A Growing Demand for Power

Abstrax Tech, a leader in technological innovation, found themselves at a crossroads. To keep pace with their expanding operations and the installation of new industrial equipment, they faced the urgent need for increased electrical capacity. Their existing setup was no longer sufficient. It was time for a solution—one that would not only meet their current demands but also accommodate future growth.

Upgrading from a standard 200-amp, 120/240V single-phase service to a more robust 275-amp, 277/480V three-phase system posed several challenges. The project required meticulous planning and coordination with Southern California Edison (SCE) to ensure compliance and safety standards. Our skilled team set to work, determined to provide Abstrax Tech with the high-capacity electrical infrastructure they needed.

Electrical Upgrade Project Highlights

Here’s what we accomplished during the project:

1. Service Upgrade: We successfully installed a 275-amp, 277/480V three-phase service, dramatically increasing the available power to support Abstrax Tech’s heavy-duty operations.
2. Power Distribution: To effectively distribute power to high-demand equipment, we added a 275-amp, 277/480V subpanel, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
3. Step-Down Transformer: We integrated a 115 kVA step-down transformer that converts 480V to 240V, providing appropriate power levels for standard load requirements and enhancing flexibility for various applications.
4. Subpanel Installation: Finally, to support office and light-duty circuits, we installed a 200-amp, 120/240V subpanel, ensuring that both heavy machinery and lighter applications could thrive simultaneously.

This upgraded electrical system not only meets Abstrax Tech's immediate needs but also sets the stage for scalable growth. With a modern, efficient infrastructure in place, they can now confidently expand their operations and embrace new opportunities without the worry of power shortages.
